Frequently Asked Questions

Can you build my design or my idea?
Together, with your ideas and my experience in woodworking, we can design a piece that will give you many years of pleasure and service. Making a piece to fit your needs and desires is my most important goal in the process of designing and building one-of-a-kind furniture.

What are your prices?
There are many things that go into pricing custom pieces of furniture. The price will be based primarily on the complexity of the design and the choice of wood; however other considerations can play a role.
Once we agree upon a design I will price the piece and we will sign a contract to that effect. Changes to the design once the construction process has begun can result in higher costs.

Do you include delivery?
I prefer to deliver my pieces locally, but long distance delivery may require a crating fee plus the cost of shipping via the best available carrier.

Why do you require a contract?
Once we have agreed upon a design, we will sign a contract that will protect both of us from miscommunications throughout the process.

Do you require a deposit?
Yes, a deposit of one half of the total price is required to schedule construction. The balance is due on delivery.

How long does a piece take to build?
A lead time of two to four months is typical to begin construction. The construction of the project can take 2-6 weeks depending on the complexity.
I do all the designing and construction myself, so there can be a wait depending on the number of projects in front of yours.

Do you guarantee your work?
I guarantee my furniture for flaws in craftsmanship. If there is any problem with the piece because of the way I built it, I will repair it or replace it free of charge. The guarantee does not cover damage from moving or shipping the piece (initial delivery excepted), neglect or abuse.
