Wood furniture designer Ryan Baldwin believes that quality and craftsmanship are elusive in this age of instant gratification. He strives to create pieces that will endure through time as examples of skilled woodworking and creative, elegant design.
Within the framework of his personal style, Ryan makes each piece to order.
He selects the wood he uses carefully, working to enhance the natural beauty of the different colors, textures and grains of the different types of wood. As a certified arborist for more than a decade, Ryan has deep understanding of how trees grow, and how best to use the special characteristics of each part of the tree.
In furniture pieces that range from rustic to contemporary, Ryan incorporates local urban hardwoods whenever possible to enhance the uniqueness of each of his creations. This specialized lumber often comes from local trees removed from backyards and pastures in Northern Colorado. Turning this wood into furniture is an important way to recycle it and celebrate the life and history of each majestic tree after its life cycle has come to an end.

At the beginning of a project, Ryan works closely with customers to help them translate their ideas into a sketch that will reflect the exact piece they desire.
I design and build custom wood furniture in my shop in Fort Collins, Colorado. I strive to create pieces that will endure through time as examples of skilled woodworking and creative, elegant design. I make each piece to order, carefully choosing every piece of wood and working to enhance the natural beauty of its different colors, textures and grains.
